Basket brigade seeks volunteers, donations

DuPage Basket Brigade, a not-for-profit company that coordinates donations of money, nonperishable food and household items for families and individuals in need in the DuPage County area, is seeking donations and volunteers to help.

The brigade is a local chapter of the International Basket Brigade, which is part of the Anthony Robbins Foundation. For the second year, the DuPage brigade is collecting, organizing and delivering Thanksgiving dinners for families and individuals in need.

The brigade needs donations of monies, nonperishable food and household items. The group pays no wages or salaries and all help is on a volunteer basis.

All donated money goes to purchase food and household items for those in need, less PayPal and marketing costs. Visit www.dupagebasketbrigade.com for information on how or where to donate.

The brigade also is seeking volunteers. Help is needed with marketing, soliciting donations, putting baskets together, and delivery of baskets and bags.

The DuPage brigade office is at 450 E 22nd St., Suite 150, Lombard. For details, call David Segatti at (630) 873-4177 or Mike Fleck at (630) 461-1982.
