Central Illinois couple wins $134M lottery jackpot

TUSCOLA, Ill. (AP) - A husband and wife from central Illinois have won a $134 million Illinois Lottery jackpot.

Lottery officials say the Tuscola couple plans to retire after taking a one-time payment of nearly $90 million before required withholding.

Their Quick Pick ticket matched all six numbers in the Friday, Sept. 16, Mega Millions drawing. The couple did not disclose their names. They claimed the prize in the name of the Elaine Francis Trust.

The couple met with financial and legal advisers and made plans to retire early from their jobs in a factory and the health care industry. They say they will share the money with their families, the Tuscola community and the communities where they grew up.

A Tuscola gas station gets a bonus of $500,000 for selling the winning ticket.
