Cubs President Theo Epstein spent part of Monday on the computer watching catcher-outfieder Kyle Schwarber testing his surgically repaired left knee in the Arizona Fall League. Citing a lack of sufficient evidence, police have closed their investigation into who crashed a car into Schaumburg home just over a year ago and then fled the scene, leaving the vehicle behind in a resident's living room. Plea deal for Palatine man?
A plea deal may have been reached in the case of a Palatine man charged with murdering a 14-year-old runaway in 1997 and then dumping her body in a southeastern Wisconsin nature preserve, according to court documents. James P. Eaton, 38, is scheduled to appear in Racine County court this morning for a plea hearing stemming from the killing of Amber Creek, a Palatine girl who disappeared in January 1997. Palatine man charged with sexually abusing 12-year-old
A Palatine man who held a pocket knife at his own throat when police attempted to arrest him faces charges he sexually abused a 12-year-old girl. Barnassey Thomas, 34, was ordered held on $750,000 bail yesterday on charges of predatory criminal sexual assault, which carries a sentence of up to 30 years in prison. Full story.
