Suspect sought in killing of Beach Park man

Waukegan police are seeking a suspect in connection with the slaying of a 23-year-old Beach Park man who shot to death Sunday night along a city street.

Michael Q. Sierra was pronounced dead at Vista Medical Center, where he was taken after officers responding to reports of shots fired about 8:30 p.m. found him lying in the 1500 block of 11th Street.

Waukegan police said they believe the shooting occurred during a "consensual encounter" and detectives obtained a description of the shooter. He is described as black, in his late teens or early 20s, with short dreadlock-style hair. He was last seen leaving the area wearing a dark winter coat, police said.
