Coat drive for vets in Lake County
Since 2009, local police agencies and high schools have partnered with the Veterans Assistance Commission to help veterans in need, which includes providing winter coats. Several high schools have already conducted drives, but donations are still welcome at local police departments including: Vernon Hills, 750 Lakeview Parkway; Mundelein, 221 N. Lake St.; Deerfield, 850 Waukegan Road; and, Bannockburn, 2275 Telegraph Road. Collected coats will be delivered to the Midwest Veteran's Clothing Closet, 2323 Green Bay Road, North Chicago.
