Progtoberfest returns

Reggies is bringing back some of the best in progressive rock, fusion and jazz art rock for Progtoberfest II. The last day of the three-day fest features bands on two stages in the club. Sunday headliners include The Reign of Kindo and Carl Palmer Sunday. CROCtoberfest

Get up close and personal with a variety of reptiles including "Bubba," an American alligator, at CROCtoberfest at the Wildlife Discovery Center at Elawa Farm, 1401 Middlefork Drive, Lake Forest. Experts will discuss crocodiles and provide close-up encounters with a number of creatures. Other highlights include face painting and food. Admission is a $10 donation, which will help the Wildlife Discovery Center care for its animal residents. A portion of proceeds will help support crocodile conservation. Welcome to Paradise

California punk rockers Green Day have made some changes since the band first formed in 1986 and the trio busted out with the major-label debut "Dookie" in 1994. The band has embraced the poppier nature of radio and co-created an award-winning Broadway musical. Plus, frontman Billie Joe Armstrong has traded in some of his punk stripes for parenthood and is starring in the recently released movie "Ordinary World." But the band's live performances are still some of the most fun I've ever seen.
