Jacksonville State has 3 pick-6's in 24-7 win over EKU

RICHMOND, Ky. (AP) - Joel McCandless, Jaylen Hill and Reggie Hall each returned an interception for a touchdown and Jacksonville State forced five turnovers in a 24-7 victory over Eastern Kentucky on Saturday.

McCandless scored from 41 yards out in the second quarter and Hill ran it back from 60 yards with 39 seconds left before halftime for a 14-0 lead. Eastern Kentucky pulled to 17-7 on Ryan Markush's 30-yard touchdown grab late in the third quarter, but Hall's 88-yard return in the fourth sealed it.

Josh Clemons carried it 26 times for a career-best 149 yards for Jacksonville State (6-1, 3-0 Ohio Valley Conference), which outgained the Colonels 229-81. Hill added another interception in the fourth quarter for his ninth career pick.

Eastern Kentucky (2-5, 1-3) starter Bennie Coney was just 4 of 17 for 38 yards and three interceptions. Backup Tyler Swafford went 9 of 19 for 141 yards and two interceptions.

It was JSU's 20th straight victory in OVC play, which is the third-longest streak in league history.
