Women's volleyball: Harper closes regular season at 38-1

Harper's women's volleyball team finished the regular with a 38-1 record on Saturday after wins over Ambrose JV and Illinois Valley.

The Hawks, seeded No. 1 in their regional, won the N4C conference with a 12-0 record.

In the 24-26, 25-15, 25-18, 23-25, 15-10 over Ambrose, Sarah Udoni had 11 kills, including 8 consecutive on 8 swings spanning the second, third and fourth sets.

Ellie Burzlaff led with 17 kills (7 in second set) while Kathryn Novy had 12 and Anne Bieliomski 9. Setter Katelyn Sommers collected 44 assists and 14 digs while Udoni also had 4 blocks and Kayla Mayer 25 digs. Ariana Chelini served 5 aces.

Harper defeated Illinois Valley 25-16, 25-30, 25-17 as Burzlaff (10 kills and Chelini (7) led the attack. Sommers had 27 assists and Mayer 17 digs.
