These are pitcher plants. They live in places where there are few nutrients in the soil, and capture insects to feed on. The victims are lured into a cup filled with a digestive fluid. In this photo, you can see a doomed insect that cannot escape. Marvin Garber of Elgin

This photo was taken at the Hjemskomst (Homecoming in Norwegian) Center in Moorehead, MN Oct of 2016. this was the first time I attempted a photo using a macro fish eye lens with no flash using only the aperture setting and adjusting the ISO to 1600. This ship was completed in early 1980s and was sailed from Duluth, Mn to New York City and then across the Atlantic to Oslo, Norway in June/July of 1982.
