American Hotel to buy Woleco

VERNON HILLS - American Hotel Register Co., a provider of supplies to the hotel industry, said it has entered into an agreement to acquire Woleco Distribution from Hunter Amenities International, one of the world's leading formulators and manufacturers of personal care products.

This acquisition does not include Woleco's manufacturing division, which will continue to be operated by Hunter Amenities. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Headquartered in Singapore, with sales and distribution offices in China, Thailand, Indonesia, Malaysia and Taiwan, Woleco supplies amenities in the Asia-Pacific market. Its distribution division will become a wholly owned subsidiary of American Hotel, and its established distribution network will provide American Hotel's key customers with streamlined supply chain management and consistent, high quality customer care throughout the Asia-Pacific region.

With its previous acquisition of Amsterdam-based Intros Hotel Supplies, American Hotel already serves customers in Europe, the Middle East and Africa with additional offices in Dubai (UAE) and Johannesburg, South Africa.

"The combination of American Hotel, Intros, and Woleco provides us with a truly global distribution platform for our customer and manufacturing partners around the world," said Angela Korompilas, president and CEO of American Hotel. "We have long been committed to being our customers' most valued partner everywhere in the world, and are excited to bring our global program management, technology solutions, and supply chain efficiencies to the fast-growing Asian market."

The acquisition strengthens American Hotel's relationship with Hunter Amenities, providing enhanced distribution processes for Hunter's impressive portfolio of internationally recognized brands. "Over the last few years, the hospitality industry has accelerated its expansion into the Asian and Middle Eastern markets and the growing North American chains expect their suppliers to offer consistent global services," said Berny Amiel, CEO of Hunter Amenities International. "With American Hotel's distribution expertise, customers in over 40 countries in the Asian and Middle Eastern markets can expect first-class service that supports their fast-changing needs and strategic goals."
