Impactful support
What better way to spend a beautiful October evening than in the company of friends? More than 140 people agreed, gathering recently for the 27th annual Lutheran Child and Family Services of Illinois (LCFS) Harvest Gala. They gathered for a time of fellowship and good food and to support LCFS' work of nurturing and protecting children, strengthening families and transforming communities.
That support was welcomed by LCFS CEO Gene Svebakken, who noted, "The social service landscape in Illinois is in a state of transformation. I'm excited about the future of LCFS as we too continue to provide services that are innovative, impactful, bring about positive results and inspire hope in those we serve. With your support, we can feel confident in our capacity to provide quality services throughout Illinois."
During the evening LCFS Regenerations Program Supervisor, Rasheda Muhammad shared the life-changing impact LCFS has on traumatized youth when we meet them where they are at and support them to build their strengths, which result in an enduring experience of belonging and well-being. You can learn more about the Regenerations program at www.lcfs.org/regenerations.
Thanks to the sponsors, attendees, volunteers, staff and all of our other friends who helped make this year's Harvest Gala a huge success. More than $80,000 was raised for LCFS' programs and services, both at the event and through the Gala online auction.
