Wheeling family displaced after fire
A Wheeling family has been displaced after a fire broke out Thursday afternoon in their two-story townhouse, fire officials said.
Firefighters were called at 4:45 p.m. to the blaze on the 1200 block of Thyne Court in one unit of the four-unit building, Wheeling Battalion Chief Mark Menzel said.
The fire, which started in the family room, caused about $5,000 in damage. Nobody was home at the time.
"An occupant in an adjacent unit called it in," Menzel said.
The fire remains under investigation. Buffalo Grove assisted.
