Join packing party for Operation Christmas Child

Immanuel Lutheran Church and School, 950 Hart Road in Batavia, recently held a sorting event for Operation Christmas Child.

The volunteers organized and made countless hygiene and school supply kits for guests to pack into shoe boxes at the sorting party.

The community is invited to join in the packing party on Friday, Nov. 11, from 3:30 to 6 p.m. It will start in the sanctuary then proceed to go into the gym where there will be Operation Christmas Child committee members waiting to help people pack Christmas shoe boxes to send all over the world.

At 4:15 p.m., the Rev. Eric Kennaugh will do a blessing of the boxes and from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m., there will be a performance by a magician.

Immanuel's Parent-Teacher League also will provide a free hot dog supper from 5 to 6 p.m.

This year, Immanuel Batavia has partnered with Lutheran Church Extension Fund, which gave them a grant to help grow this outreach ministry party.
