Operation North Pole provides Plainfield students with jackets

Plainfield Elementary School in Des Plaines received 340 jackets Tuesday, Oct. 4, from Operation North Pole, a volunteer-based public charity.

Des Plaines police and fire personnel helped deliver the coats to the students.

"We are grateful to Operation North Pole for their partnership and generosity," said Principal Guillermo Heredia.

"I'm grateful to our social worker, Helen Galvan, our social worker intern, Karalyn Andrijczak, and parent Nelly Avina for working with Operation North Pole on this project. This donation will make a big difference in the lives of our students."
