Girls volleyball: Radtke leads Stevenson to 3-set win

Jori Radtke pounded 16 kills and added 8 digs, and Stevenson's girls volleyball team rallied to beat visiting Lakes 16-25, 25-17, 25-18 in nonconference action Tuesday night.

Sophie Sorenson contributed 9 kills and 2 aces for Stevenson (27-7). Hope Havenhill (6 kills, 3 solo blocks) and Alex Cuc (34 assists, 2 aces) also had strong matches for the Patriots, whose other contributors included Chloe Robinson (3 aces, 6 digs) and Sara Bufe (3 solo blocks).

Lakes (23-10) was led by Katie Billetdeaux's 10 kills and McKenna Lahr's 9 kills, 10 digs and 2 aces. Erica Grant had 4 kills and 15 digs, Kelly Zeason added 5 kills and 1 block, and Rachel Orpano totaled 27 assists, 2 aces and 7 digs. Toyin Jackson (6 digs) and Paige Bartlett (14 digs) also contributed for the Eagles.

Elgin d. Wauconda: The visiting Bulldogs fell 13-25, 25-23, 25-10 in the nonconference match.

Amanda Mason had 7 kills for Wauconda (13-19), while Hayley Redmann (2 blocks) and Lauren Sexton finished with six apiece. Nicole Carazas contributed 5 kills and 2 aces. The Bulldogs also received 10 assists and 3 aces from Summer Olsen, 11 assists and 7 digs from Aimee Berg, 3 aces from Sam Sasin and 2 aces from Jane Sakowicz.
