Boys soccer: West Aurora, Kaneland, Marmion notch regional wins

Jose Munoz scored with two minutes to play in regulation to lift West Aurora's boys soccer team to a 2-1 win over Plainfield North Wednesday in the Class 3A Oswego regional semifinals.

Emanuel Acosta provided the assist for the Blackhawks, who take on top seed Naperville North Saturday for the regional title.

Kaneland 4, Glenbard South 2: Tucker Jahns, Josh McCaffery, Angel Escontrias and Brian Bartholomew each had goals in the first half as Kaneland won a semifinal at its own Class 2A regional. Dylan Bock, Escontrias, Gavin Cano and Ulysses Herrera added assists for the Knights, who will play Benet on Friday for the regional championship.

Marmion 3, Timothy Christian 0: At the Class 2A Fenton regional, TJ Laurich, Nick Grant and Aidan Reynolds scored for the Cadets, who will play the host school Friday in the title game. James Serrano and Sean Miller dished out assists for Marmion and David Chiesa made 4 saves in goal.
