Children's museum to participate in Trunk or Treat

Immanuel Lutheran and First United Methodist churches of Palatine are holding their annual Trunk or Treat event from 3-5:30 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 23, at Immanuel Luthern Church & School, 200 N. Plum Grove Road, in Palatine. All ages are invited to this free event.

Last year an estimated 500 people attended, with decorated car trunks and kids trick-or-treating from them in a safe environment.

New this year, is a series of traveling exhibits by Busy Brains Children's Museum. Busy Brains' fun and educational activities include "Geariosity," demonstrating radial and linear motion, and "Rub a Dub," which allows children to create works of art, and more.

Trunk or Treat will also include a variety of games and activities such as pumpkin bowling, bean bag toss, decorating treat bags, photo opportunities and a bounce house.

Cider and doughnuts (while supplies last) round out the event. Costumes are optional but add a fun touch. Bring a nonperishable food item for the food pantry and get a prize.
