Cold-blooded fun for kids at critter program

Kids can get an up-close look at cold-blooded critters at "Reptiles and Amphibians," Citizens for Conservation's November Youth Education program.

The program will be from 1-3 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 12, at the Barrington Hills Riding Center, 361 Bateman Road, in Barrington Hills.

Rob Carmichael, of the Wildlife Discovery Center in Lake Forest, will bring an amazing array of reptiles and amphibians. Class participants will get a chance to see lizards, turtles and snakes and talk about animal habitats throughout the world.

The class is open to children ages 6 years and older; parents are welcome to attend.

CFC members are free; nonmembers pay $5 for the first child and $1 for each additional child. Registration deadline is Monday, Nov. 7. Register at www.citizensforconservation.org or call (847) 382-SAVE (7283) for more information.
