Walk in Aurora to shine the light on peace

The YWCA Aurora will hold a Peace Walk during Week Without Violence at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 19, at Peace Park.

The path to peace will be lighted with luminary bags dedicated to victims of violence and will release lighted floating lanterns over the Fox River. Join the group by attending and wearing orange to make a statement against violence.

Dedicate a luminary bag for $5 per bag with a violence victim's name at www.ywcaaurora.org/donate and list your dedication in the Address Notes line.

The luminary bags will light the path to peace along the Peace Walk route.

The Peace Park is at 225 N. River St. along the Fox River behind the casino.

The peace walk is open and free to the public.

Helane' Aghayere, YWCA program director, said "We will light the path to peace with luminary bags dedicated to victims of violence and release lighted lanterns over the Fox River.

"Please join us by attending and wearing orange to make a statement against violence!"
