Northwest Indiana man accused of killing girlfriend arrested
LAKE STATION, Ind. (AP) - A Northwest Indiana man charged with killing his 26-year-old girlfriend has been arrested more than a week after police found the woman's body inside his home.
The (Northwest Indiana) Times reports (http://bit.ly/2e63j6P ) 31-year-old Jovanni Torres of Lake Station was taken into custody Friday night.
He's charged in the shooting death of 26-year-old Aimee Giro of Lake Station.
Authorities believe Giro died from multiple gunshot wounds on Oct. 1. Her decomposing body was found Oct. 5, after she didn't show up for work and her father went to the home looking for her.
Lake Station Police Captain Brian Williams says an investigation revealed Torres told another woman about two weeks before Giro's death that he may kill her. The woman says Torres told her Giro caught him looking at child pornography.
