District 155 aims to provide computing devices for all students

Every student in Crystal Lake High School District 155 will have a personal computing device, officials said Friday.

District 155 is conducting four town hall meetings starting later this month about the district's plan to implement a one-to-one technology program. Each session will include a project plan, student presentations, and cost projections.

The goal of the forums is to gather feedback on the plan from parents and community members.

"We want to engage our community, and we value input from all of our stakeholders," Superintendent Johnnie Thomas said.

The town hall sessions are as follows:

• Oct. 25 - 5:30-6:30 p.m., Cary-Grove High School/media center, 2208 Three Oaks Road, Cary.

• Oct. 26 - 5:30-6:30 p.m., Prairie Ridge High School/theater, 6000 Dvorak Drive, Crystal Lake.

• Oct. 27 - 6:30-7:30 p.m., Crystal Lake South High School/library, 1200 South McHenry Ave., Crystal Lake.

• Nov. 1 - 5:30-6:30 p.m., Crystal Lake Central High School/library, 45 West Franklin St., Crystal Lake.

Those who cannot attend the town hall meetings can submit their feedback and questions to onetoone@d155.org.

In November, the district will survey stakeholders to gather more input and feedback.
