''Twas the Night Before Halloween' on Oct. 30

Children and their families are invited to "'Twas the Night Before Halloween: A Not So Scary Halloween Tale" told by Silly Soothsayer Madam Zelda, portrayed by Maria Bakalis, and her Curtain Up players.

Performance times are 3 and 4 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 30, at the Glen Ellyn History Center, 800 N. Main St., Glen Ellyn. Each performance gives a peek into the past.

After the play, the audience marches to Stacy's Tavern Museum as part of Madam Zelda's Happy Halloween Costume Parade. At Stacy's Tavern, guests meet a few silly Halloween goblins from pioneer times.

The event is geared toward elementary students and preschoolers. Tickets are $8 for adults and teens, $6 for school-age children, and free for children younger than 5. Everyone is invited to wear a Halloween costume, but costumes are not required.
