Volunteers needed to plant trees, shrubs

Libertyville Township and the Lake County Audubon Society will host volunteer work days to plant 250 trees and shrubs on township property between the Timber Creek and Bull Creek subdivisions in Libertyville. The work days to enhance the habitat for birds and wildlife are from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturdays, Oct. 22 and Nov. 5. Signs will be posted at the Castleton Drive and Butterfield Road entrance to direct volunteers. Volunteers are encouraged to RSVP to dcederberg@libertyvilletownship.us and bring a shovel. Anyone under 17 will need to have their parent/guardian sign a release. Light refreshments will be provided at the event. Call (847) 362-9760.
