Christ Community Church to adopt Streamwood's Lamplighter Bible Church

Christ Community Church is excited to announce the adoption of Lamplighter Bible Church in Streamwood. The leadership teams of both churches have agreed to combine the congregations and staff of Lamplighter with Christ Community's Bartlett Campus into one unified church serving the Bartlett, Hanover Park, and Streamwood communities.

"This opportunity matches our long-term commitment to love, serve, and share the good news of Jesus with our surrounding communities," says Bartlett Campus Pastor Andy Doyle. "It enables our church to provide an environment where people from all walks of life can either explore or grow in their Christian faith."

The adoption will be official on Tuesday, Nov. 1, with Christ Community's Bartlett Campus moving into the Lamplighter building at 23 W. Streamwood Road in Streamwood for Sunday 10 a.m. services beginning Nov. 20. The grand opening will be on Christmas Eve, Dec. 24.

The relationship between the two churches seemed natural. Both Christ Community and Lamplighter Bible Church value Bible-based preaching combined with a contemporary style of worship. In addition, both share a passion to reach the people in their communities and throughout the world, growing them into passionate disciples of Jesus Christ. Many of Lamplighter's popular programs, including addiction recovery, after-school programs, and a weekly Spanish-speaking service, will continue.

Lamplighter began in May 2006 as a church plant with six people. In 2014, Lamplighter purchased and renovated Streamwood's former Mainstreet USA Roller Rink.

Christ Community Church has similar roots, beginning in October 1984 with six couples in St. Charles. Since then, the St. Charles Campus has grown to over 3,000 in average weekend attendance. In October of 2004, Christ Community began its multi-site strategy by launching its first regional campus in DeKalb. A multi-site strategy is simply the idea of being one church (with one ministry model, one budget, and one leadership) in multiple locations. In 2007, Christ Community continued to grow by adopting Blackberry Creek Community Church in Aurora. Continuing the desire to reach more people, in 2011 Christ Community opened its fourth regional campus in Bartlett. Currently located on Stearns Road, Bartlett has grown to over 200 weekly attenders.
