Chicagoland Chef Deb Miley Showcased in New Book
Chicago, IL (October 11, 2016) - Deb Miley, a Chicagoland chef and owner of Deb Miley Dishes, announced today that her personal and witty history with food is showcased in "Behind Their Brand: Vol 2," which is now available on Amazon. "Behind Their Brand: Vol 2" highlights the stories of Deb and eight other chefs building their culinary brands from scratch. Deb shares her personal story that led to her becoming a boutique catering chef and creating her own company.
Deb's passion for food began in the 1970s while growing up in Brooklyn, N.Y. The combination of the intoxicating smells of fresh basil, simmering sausages and loaves of warm bread rising in her neighborhood and her family's influences of traditional comfort foods are the foundation for Deb Miley Dishes. In addition to her Brooklyn roots, Deb spent three years in the San Francisco Bay Area and one year in Paris, France exploring new foods and methods of cooking that inspired the simple, authentic and internationally-inspired fare Deb provides to her clients.
Beyond her passion for crafting, preparing and presenting delicious food, Deb was motivated to start Deb Miley Dishes because she understood, firsthand, the challenges that come with managing a busy schedule and family. As a wife and mother to two children she has a material drive to prepare fun, fresh and nourishing meals for other busy families. And, her flair for high-end, innovative foods and presentation has driven the success of the other side of her business, which provides customized cuisine for personal parties and corporate events. Whether it's preparing a week's meals for a family, planning a thoughtful menu for an intimate event or catering an elite, elegant party, this edgy, warm and funny native New Yorker believes in getting sh*t done, which she playfully refers to as GSD.
"I'm not above any task," Deb says. "I am agile and forward thinking in the kitchen. I eagerly put the menu and plan of action together and GSD."
Deb likes to keep things authentic and simple, but has yet to find a recipe that she hasn't wanted to put her own personal spin on. She started her Personal Chef and Boutique Catering business to foster her love of food and help Chicago locals take the stress of daily cooking and entertaining off of their plate and onto hers.
"The primary goal for my business-beyond ensuring that the food is great-is to make sure it feels personal and unique, just like when I'm cooking for someone in my home," says Deb. "And, I want to give my clients some of their time back. They get to enjoy their families-life's simplest moments and greatest milestones-with an amazing meal at the heart of it all."
