Group exists to serve all veterans

In reference to David Kumpula's letter about no organization for Cold War vets, I'd like to help him out. I point you to AMVETS, an active veterans organization for vets in exactly your circumstance. They are much more than just donations and collections of clothing and furniture, but they are also active in local communities. Please go to AmVets.org for more info, or look at the active AMVETS Chapter that meets monthly at the American Legion facility in Elgin. Want to be a part of helping vets, parades, civic ceremonies and standing with other veteran groups on significant veteran days? Give them a call or go online. Your answer is just a click or call away. Any honorably discharged vet after September. 1940 is eligible to join.
