Inked: Tattooing's Vibrant History Coming to Lake Villa District Library

Inked: Tattooing's Vibrant History will discuss historical evidence of widespread tattooing in diverse cultures, how it served as an important cultural marker and the reasons why we tend to impose outdated views of tattooing onto the past.

Friedman will share information on ancient artifacts dating back 40,000 years, specimens of tattooed skin from approximately 3300 BCE, and the state of tattooing today. The main artistic genres currently being inscribed will finish out the talk.
