Get tickets for Saturday's Wayne Walk

The community is invited to the Wayne Walk fundraising event on Saturday, Oct. 8. Sponsored by Little Home Church by the Wayside in Wayne, this event will host a maximum of 250 attendees for a tour of three lovely private homes and the Dunham Castle restoration site.

Tours begin at 1 p.m. through 4:30 p.m., with a reception from 4:30 to 6 p.m., at the Dunham Woods Riding Club in Wayne.

Transportation for the tour is provided. A complimentary drink at the reception is also included. Attendee check-in and parking is at Dunham Woods Riding Club on the corner of Army Trail Road and Dunham Road in Wayne.

Also enjoy this opportunity to visit: Wayne-DuPage Hunt Equestrian Compound, the restored Wayne Depot and 147-year-old Little Home Church by the Wayside.

All proceeds from this fundraising event will benefit six local service agencies: Bridge Communities (Transitional Housing); Community Crisis Center; Fox Valley Hands of Hope; Midwest Shelter for Homeless Veterans; Neighborhood Food Pantries; and Renz Addiction Counseling Center.

The Wayne Walk honorary chairpersons are Andrea and Bill Ferguson, and Carol and Doug Hancock. Both couples are long-time residents of the Wayne community, and active members of Little Home Church, the Wayne-DuPage Hunt, and Dunham Woods Riding Club.

"This community fundraiser is a wonderful opportunity for all of us to support these six important service agencies, and enjoy some of the best Wayne has to offer," says Carol Hancock. And Andrea Ferguson describes Wayne as having, "unique characteristics of history and charm in a beautiful country setting that has endured much of the change we see all around us."
