Arts Center of St. Charles to hold grand opening Nov. 4

The Arts Center of St. Charles invites the community to its grand opening from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday, Nov. 4, at the new facility, 2422 W. Main St., Suite 2B, just west of Randall Road in St. Charles.

There will be food, student performances, open mic, and giveaways. The event is open to anyone enrolled or interested in its programs. Just pop by anytime between 7 p.m. and 9 p.m. Stay as long as you like. Kids are welcome to come in costume to trick-or-treat one last time this season. There is no charge to attend, but donations of course are encouraged.

Just one short year after opening their own facility, the Arts Center of St. Charles had grown so quickly it was in desperate need of an even larger location. It is the same building they have resided in for the past 6 months, but they are now in a larger overall area to better accommodate the rising number of students and guests.

Even with this larger facility, many performances will take place at locations such as Pheasant Run Resort and the Bartlett Oak Room. Students come from as far away as Lake in the Hills, Genoa, Carol Stream, Hanover Park, and Plainfield.

"I was so excited to be a part of putting together the new home for the Arts Center of St. Charles. It's been incredible to watch the space develop from an empty square into a theatre space," said Kimberly Bartkowiak of Elburn. "I can't wait to see what the future brings for the Arts Center! My kids have grown so much as actors, young women, and, most importantly, confident and dedicated human beings. Amazing things, and people, are destined to be a product of this establishment."

Nomad Theatre Company is currently in rehearsals for the musical "Grease," and auditions for "Disney's Little Mermaid Jr." and "Spring Awakening" will be held in November. Go to www.artscenterstc.org/nomad-theatre-company for more information.

The Arts Center is now enrolling for late fall classes begin in November. A complete listing is available at www.artscenterstc.org/classes.
