Bartlett will play at home Saturday for first time

It will be a true homecoming for Bartlett High this Saturday at noon when the school hosts an on-campus varsity football game for the first time.

Bartlett has played its varsity games at Streamwood High School's Millennium Field since the program's inception in 1998.

Saturday's Upstate Eight Valley game against East Aurora will be the only contest played on Bartlett's campus this season, according to first-year coach Eric Ilich, who during the interview process last spring stressed his desire for the Hawks to play a home game.

"It has been all hands on deck between the boosters and the administration to get this done," Ilich said Tuesday. "Hopefully, this is just the end of phase one of a three-phase, coordinated effort that eventually allows us to play all our home games at Bartlett."

The sophomore teams from Bartlett and East Aurora will play at Millennium on Friday at 5 p.m.

The Hawks' remaining home game against Glenbard East on Oct. 21 will be played at Millennium Field.
