Wauconda Historical Society

"A Wauconda Woman in the Marines" is set for 1 p.m., Sunday, Oct. 9, at Wauconda Township Historical Society, 711 N. Main St., Wauconda. It will feature a talk by U.S. Marine Col. Patricia Klop, who has actively served in the Marine Corps since being commissioned in 1994. During her career, she has earned many decorations and commendations, including for service in Iraq and Afghanistan. A tour of the historic Andrew Cook House will follow the program.
