If you are running for re-election, is there an important project you want to implement? If you are a challenger, is there a particular issue that motivates you? Please explain.I have lived in Lake County my entire life. I care about my city and the future of our county. Not only for my community, but for my family. I see the struggle for a better way of life. I see it in the mirror and every time I walk out the door. Our county has enormous potential just looking for a direction.I am not a politician. This is not my career; just my opportunity to make a change for my neighbor and become the voice of a forgotten community. What are your ideas to ensure the Lake County Discovery Museum remains relevant with county residents during the year it is closed while it moves from Wauconda to Libertyville and its new space is prepared? The Discovery Museum can remain relevant using many of the methods currently practiced. This transition is a wonderful time to take the exciting features to classrooms to inform children about the history around them.Local libraries are another great venue to be utilized in educating our residents about Lake County's past. Guided nature walks that are informative and friendly to families will encourage educational growth and curiosity. Optimal use of transition time involves reaching out to the communities and residents in a way that isn't constricted and confined to brick and mortar ideas.Do you believe all of the county board's and forest board's committee meetings should be televised live and webcast? Why or why not?Yes. For example, Lake Zurich signed a two-year contract with the county in late 2015 and expects to save $100,000 by paying $67 an hour for the inspections. Do you see this as a good thing for the county because of the revenue or are there concerns that should be addressed if these arrangements continue to grow? Please explain. My concern is that growth of revenue and workload could potentially overload county services.Unless the work force is increased to match the additional contracts, the services provided to county residents may suffer. The revenue gained may be sacrificed other areas of the budget. Please list any elected office you've ever run for and what the result of that election was. Have you ever been appointed to fill an unexpired term?I have never ran for an office and never will. An election is the prestigious opportunity to serve the public. What other issues, if any, are important to you as a candidate for this office?I believe the County Board Member needs to do more work in the schools talking to students from 7th thru 12th grades about the opportunities Lake County has to offer them. This includes an affordable way to further their education after high school using a valuable resource like the College of Lake County. I also believe that initiatives like Summer Job Programs and Volunteer Opportunities will help them discover a path to a rewarding career in Lake County; even potential service in county and local government. Please name one current leader who most inspires you.Ben Carson inspired me to look outside of the political spectrum for a leader who presents logical and thought provoking answers to tough questions. What is the biggest lesson you learned at home growing up?Accountability.
