Our office was the first county in Illinois to digitally scan and archive recorded documents as well as the first county in Illinois to receive electronic, paperless documents, for recording from outside submitters. As past Chairman of the Illinois Electronic Recording Commission, I helped to develop rules to allow all counties in Illinois to establish standards to accept electronic submission of documents. I have both the expertise and experience with the office and state statutes to be an effective and efficient Recorder. If you expect to ask for an increase in appropriations during the next four years, what areas would you want to put more money into?I will not ask for an increase in appropriations. The Recorder's Office is funded by taxpayer dollars and user fees. From a taxpayer perspective, our office has submitted a maintenance budget for the last six years. Monitoring user fee revenue has allowed me to reduce headcount due to retirements or job changes, while increasing access to public records at no cost to the taxpayers of DuPage County via improved electronic efficiencies. I will continue to increase the submission of electronic documents, saving on personnel costs. This scenario will work for years to come, benefiting the taxpayers in DuPage County.List any of your relatives (including those related to you by marriage, and nieces/nephews) who are on the public payroll in Illinois, their jobs and who they work for.Rebekah Bucholz, Administrative Assistant Forest Preserve District of DuPage CountyDescribe your position on transparency in the office and the ease of access to records by the public.
