Tree-trimming project set for Oct. 10-21 along Fox River Trail in Dundee

The Forest Preserve District of Kane County is alerting users of the Fox River Trail in Dundee Township to an upcoming tree-trimming project that may briefly delay users of the popular trail.

Beginning Oct. 10, Asplundh, a contractor for ComEd, will be conducting routine trimming of trees near power lines, within three feet of poles, or that pose a safety hazard.

The project area is along the Fox River Trail and Elgin Avenue, between Williams Court to the north, and Sunset Park Drive to the south.

Signs will be present to alert trail users to the work area.

There also will be flaggers on site to direct trail users around construction equipment.

The district asks preserve users for their cooperation, to be mindful of the possibility of construction equipment or work crews, and to use caution in the project area.

The tree-trimming project is expected to be completed by Oct. 21.
