Pumpkin carving, hayrides part of fall festival in Ingleside

Lake County residents celebrated the arrival of autumn Sunday at the Fox Lake and Grant Township Fall Festival.

Visitors to the Grant Township Center on Molidor Road took hayrides, enjoyed pony rides, checked out crafts and had other seasonal fun.

A pie-eating contest and a pumpkin-carving competition also were held.

Sponsored by Grant Township and the village of Fox Lake, the event was free to attend.

"This is one event that we want to give back to the community," said Nancy Rogers, an administrative assistant with Grant Township.
