Volunteers needed for Haunted Quarry

Was that just the wind blowing in the trees or is someone walking up behind you? Swimming season has ended but that doesn't mean all is quiet at the Quarry. Face your fears and experience all the nightmares that await you at the Haunted Quarry, 400 S. Water St. in Batavia.

It will be open from 7 to 10 p.m. Saturdays, Oct. 15-29. It is not suitable for kids under 10. Admission is $8, and cash or credit card will be accepted.

If you're interested in volunteering as a tour guide or costumed character, contact Christina Webb at christinaw@bataviaparks.org.

This is a great opportunity for service hours, and all volunteers will receive dinner and refreshments each night they work. Makeup and costumes will be provided. Adults ages 18 and older must undergo a background check and complete a volunteer application by Oct. 9.
