Splash up the perfect pumpkin at the Schaumburg Park District

The zero-depth pool of The Water Works will become ideal for pumpkin picking during Pumpkin Splash, presented by Schaumburg Bank & Trust, a Wintrust Community Bank.

The event, featuring more than 200 pumpkins, takes place 6-8 p.m., Oct. 21, at The Water Works, 505 N. Springinsguth Road. The fun includes a DJ, refreshments and additional pool time.

"It's quite a sight to see all the pumpkins floating in the pool at The Water Works," said Kathleen Benson, Bock Neighborhood Center manager. "You may swim around looking for your pumpkin. Once you pick your pumpkin, you can decorate it."

Parents must accompany children 12 and younger. Hunts will take place by age.

The hunt schedule includes:

• 6:15 p.m. (2 and younger)

• 6:30 p.m. (3-5 years)

• 6:45 p.m. (6-8 years)

• 7 p.m. (9-12 years)

Cost is $14 for residents and $18 for nonresidents. Registration deadline is Oct. 20.
