Aurora church to host voter registration Thursday

Need to register to vote?

Voter registration will be offered from 11 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 29, at Wesley United Methodist Church, 14 N. May St. in Aurora.

Identification is required. Forms include an Illinois driver's license, a state-issued identification and last four numbers of a Social Security card.

The general election is Nov. 8.

The Rev. John Bell, Wesley UMC pastor, said the church hosts voting booths for two precincts. Volunteers greet voters and offer refreshments to voters and election judges.

Bell said, "The voters who come to Wesley UMC are our neighbors. We wish to provide hospitality as voters go to and from work and possibly enter our church for the first time."
