La. Tech, Tulane and Nicholls St. have winners for LSWA POW

BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) - The Louisiana Sports Writers Association has awarded athletes from Louisiana Tech, Nicholls State and Tulane with Players of the Week honors.
Ryan Higgins of Louisiana Tech earned offensive honors in a 38-34 loss at Middle Tennessee after throwing for 504 yards and three touchdowns, completing 36-of-59 passes.
There was tie for defensive honors as Nico Marley of Tulane had 11 tackles in the 41-39 four-overtime win over UL-Lafayette and B. T. Sanders of Nicholls State had 13 tackles in the 41-40 overtime loss at South Alabama.
Wave place kicker Andrew DiRocco had four field goals to earn special team honors, including a career-long 48-yarder that extended the game to the fourth overtime.
