A Wheeling man found by police smoking marijuana in his car has been sentenced to three years in prison after pleading guilty to aggravated DUI.

Carlos Almanza, 44, was also ordered to pay $6,079 in fines earlier this month, according to court records.

He received credit for 127 days in custody.

Police observed Almanza back out of a parking space in a Wheeling apartment complex without putting on his headlights. He parked nearby and got into the back seat, where officers saw him smoking marijuana, prosecutors said.
