10th annual solar tour
The Illinois Solar Energy Association will host its annual Illinois Solar Tour from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 1. More than 125 solar houses and businesses throughout the suburbs will be open for the free self-guided tour. Visitors will see examples of the use of solar energy and learn about costs, processes and environmental benefits. Visit www.illinoissolartour.org for locations. Also, from 8 to 9:30 a.m. Monday, Oct. 3, the Illinois Smart Solar Alliance will hold an information meeting at the College of Lake County campus, 1120 S. Milwaukee Ave., Vernon Hills.
