Urawa beats Hiroshima 3-0 to book spot in J-League playoffs

TOKYO (AP) - Shinzo Koroki and Toshiyuki Takagi scored in the second half Sunday as Urawa Reds beat defending champions Sanfrecce Hiroshima 3-0 to secure a place in the J-League's championship playoffs.

After an own goal in the first half, Koroki widened the lead with his 12th goal of the season four minutes after the break.

Takagi sealed the win 10 minutes later with his first of the season as Urawa maintained its lead in the second-stage standings with 31 points.

Kawasaki Frontale also booked a spot in the playoffs with a 3-2 win over Yokohama F Marinos. Yu Kobayashi scored the winner in stoppage time for Kawasaki, which trails Urawa by three points in the second-stage standings.

Gamba Osaka was held to a 3-3 draw by FC Tokyo, dropping to third place.
