Parolee charged with killing 2 Chicago men earlier this year

CHICAGO (AP) - A Chicago man paroled last year for a 2013 armed robbery is charged with killing two acquaintances earlier this year.

Marquise Hollerway faces two counts of first-degree murder in the Feb. 14 shooting deaths of Jeremy D. Hunter and Steven Tate. A judge on Saturday ordered him held without bond.

The bodies of the 25-year-old Hunter and the 26-year-old Tate were found inside a South Side apartment by a neighbor.

Assistant Cook County State's Attorney Liam Reardon told a judge Saturday that witnesses told the police they saw Hollerway leave the apartment moments after hearing the gunfire. Reardon didn't give a reason for the shooting. Hollerway was arrested at his home Thursday and identified by the witnesses.

Illinois Department of Corrections records show Hollerway was sentenced to a four-year term for robbery and paroled in June 2015.
