Girls volleyball: Batavia goes 3-2 at Waubonsie

Batavia's girls volleyball team finished 3-2 this weekend in the Waubonsie Valley tournament, taking ninth place.

The Bulldogs lost to Yorkville and Downers Grove North on Friday before coming back Sturay to defeat the Glenbard West JV, the Lincoln-Way East JV and Bolingbrook.

Maddy Boyer (37 kills, 25 digs), Sam Juarez (6 aces, 23 kills, 8 assists), Aasha Dave' (5 blocks), Sara Prier (5 blocks), Peyton Sachse (30 digs, 44 of 45 serve receive) and Jenna Garrett (95 assists, 27 digs) led Batavia (12-12) for the tournament.

At Harvest Christian: St. Edward went 2-3 at the Harvest Christian tournament, defeating Faith Lutheran and Fenton while losing to Sycamore, Byron and Keith Country Day. Leading the Green Wave on the day were Dominique Washington (52 kills, 18 digs), Brianna Lopez (30 digs), Erin Kremer (10 kills, 14 digs), Erin Aldana (57 assists, 13 digs) and Emily Stapay (18 assists).
