Final week for bilingual prayer booth at Aurora farmers market

Fourth Street United Methodist Church in Aurora will host the last of six summer prayer booths at Aurora's downtown farmers market, 233 S. Broadway, from 8 a.m. to noon Saturday, Sept. 24.

The public is invited. Free prayers, literature and refreshments, including bottled water and dog biscuits for pets, will offered.

The Rev. Deborah Tinsley Taylor, church pastor, said volunteers will pray with visitors or they can leave written requests. Prayers will be available in English or Spanish.

Volunteers, called pray-ers or prayer partners, have answered up to 20 requests daily at previous booths.

Taylor said volunteers also will offer prayer tips and a brochure listing upcoming church events. Mini-loaves of home-baked breads will be available for a donation.

The prayer booth is the market's first such offering in market's 100-year history, the oldest market in Illinois. Call (630) 897-5257 for information.
