Hanover Township hosting statewide Township Day festivities

Hanover Township will join other townships across the state on Wednesday, Sept. 21, in participating in the first Illinois Township Day.

From 9 a.m. to noon, residents are invited to attend Township Open House events at the Senior Center in Bartlett, the Astor Avenue Community Center and Food Pantry in Hanover Park, the Izaak Walton Center in Elgin, and the Emergency Services Station in downtown Bartlett. Beverages and snacks will be provided at each location.

"This is a great opportunity for residents to talk with staff, officials, and volunteers to learn more about the many different programs and services available to our residents and tour the facilities," said Brian P. McGuire, Hanover Township supervisor. "Whether it is a health screening, information on our after school programs, or interest in the activities at the senior center, we truly do have something for everyone."

A free shuttle bus will be in service allowing residents to visit all of the facilities.

Hanover Township serves over 101,000 residents in the portions of the Cook County communities of Streamwood, Elgin, Bartlett, Hanover Park, Hoffman Estates and Schaumburg.
