Views of candidates don't make sense

I can't believe what is happening in this presidential election. One candidate has a lifetime of public service, worked on civil rights issues, health care, wife of a governor and president. Hillary Clinton has been in one of the roughest jobs in the world, secretary of state, for the United States.

Has she made mistakes? Yes, but only people who have done nothing haven't made mistakes.

The other candidate has no experience in public service. When facing opposition, Trump is prone to name calling.

He jumps to conclusions without waiting for facts. The plane crash was an act of terror. No proof of that to this date. The terrorist shooter shouldn't have been allowed in this country. He was born in New York City. A judge ruled against him, so Trump responds by blasting the judge not on legal grounds but his surname.

He insults a Gold Star parent. States he has sacrificed also by creating jobs and having to pay wages to workers. He insulted all wounded veterans by referencing a Purple Heart and stating he always wanted one of those.

After his first security briefing, which is supposed to be secret, he talks about what he believes was the intent of the briefers.

No candidate has ever done this before. Yet, he says Hillary is loose on security matters.

Trump states he will bring jobs back. Maybe he can start with the products with his name on them. Trump talks about immigration but hires foreign nationals brought here on temp worker visas. He talks about bringing back Detroit but drives foreign cars.

What I don't understand is my fellow Americans not overwhelming rejecting this guy but increasingly supporting him. My mother used to say America will never be defeated from the outside but could be destroyed from inside.
