Heartland Animal Shelter Welcomes New Executive Director

On August 25, 2016 Matt Gannon was appointed as the new Executive Director for Heartland Animal Shelter in Northbrook. He may be new to Heartland, but he has years of experience in the animal world. Gannon previously worked as the Hospital Manager at Wright Animal Hospital in Des Plaines for three years and as the Shelter Manager for Red Door Animal Shelter in Chicago for ten years.

Gannon says, "I'm looking forward to working for such a fantastic shelter. The heavy volunteer presence and commitment to helping out is what makes Heartland a special place to be. All of the love put into caring for and finding homes for the cats and dogs really shows."

Gannon, along with the staff and volunteers at Heartland, have been busy planning their annual Golden Paw Gala, which will be on November 5, 2016 at Pinstripes in Northbrook.
