Art on the Prairie offers art, music and entertainment

A juried art show will be one of the highlights of this weekend's Art on the Prairie festival in Warrenville.

The annual celebration, which runs Saturday and Sunday, Sept. 17 and 18, outside city hall, 3S258 Manning Ave., also features music and entertainment aimed at the whole family.

The art show will feature artists who work in jewelry, ceramics, paintings, fused glass and photography. Many items will be for sale.

Fest hours are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday.

Here's a quick look at the entertainment schedule:

Saturday, Sept. 17:

• 11:30 a.m. Brad Stirtz Steel Drums

• 1-3 p.m. Face painting

• 1:30 p.m. Dona Benkerton on the dulcimer

• 2:30 p.m. Small Potatoes

• 4 p.m. Banjo Buddies Dixieland Band

• 5 p.m. Tin Fiddle

Sunday, Sept. 18:

• 11:30 a.m. Botts Jazz Trio

• 12:30-2:30 p.m. Chris Fascione with comedy and juggling

• 1-3 p.m. Face painting

• 1-3 p.m. Ben's Bubbles

• 1 p.m. Ac*Rock

• 2 p.m. Country dance with Janet

• 3 p.m. Rick Lindy and The Wild Ones

"Throughout the event you'll be able to see artist demos, and have fun at the children's art station," said Ruth Brackmann, Warrenville Park District recreation supervisor.
