Ela Township Day set for Sept. 21

The first Ela Township Day is set for Wednesday, Sept. 21, and will feature an open house from 4 to 5 p.m. at several locations, including the Ela Town Hall, 1155 E. Route 22, and Ela Community Center, 380 Surreys Road, Lake Zurich. The open house will be followed by a community cookout from 5 to 7 p.m. at Knox Park in Lake Zurich. The event offers fun, free food, music, children's activities, information booths, and more. Bring a nonperishable food item to help fill the township highway department truck for the St. Vince de Paul food pantry. For each donation, receive a raffle ticket for a chance to win a large flat-screen TV. Meet township officials and staff and ask questions, tour the facilities.
